Johannes Köhl (1841-†1909) - the deaf mute

Johannes Köhl was born in 1841 as the son of the blacksmith Simeon Köhl-Hertner in Lürlibad. Johannes was deaf and dumb from birth. When his father fled to America from his creditors in 1845, Johannes began an odyssey through the institutions of the city of Chur.
