Colonel and councilor Sebastian von Köhl was an influential and wealthy citizen of Chur. But his eldest son, Johann Jakob Köhl, was not to follow his example and inflict great suffering on the family. This and other strokes of fate were to usher in the downfall of the von Köhl family in Chur.
